In January 2013

As all of you already know - We adopted a baby, a fur baby of course. All of our friends and family back home know we had a rough time before we left for Okinawa because we had to give away our dog, Parker. It was a very heartbreaking experience. When we got settled into our home in Okinawa, our house, nor my heart, did not feel the same without a cute furbaby to play and snuggle with everyday. So after a few weeks of discussing it, we decided to get our first real family pet. We rescued him from an animal shelter here in Okinawa. He is considered an "Oki Mix".

Meet baby Roku.

In Japanese, the word Roku means 6. This cute little baby has a 6th toe (creepy, I know).

I know all you military families are laughing to yourselves thinking - "Yep, I've had those military issued couches". Don't worry they weren't in our house for long.
